Hello
So I made this website about two and a half years ago from when I'm writing this, and back then making my own website had been something I'd wanted to do for several years at that point.
At the time I was still in university and spent my time doing lots of different stuff and juggling several of my pasttimes and social life in equal measure.
But ever since I graduated with my degree this year and started working what I can only describe as a crushingly monotonous 9 to 5, I've found an increasingly larger need to find some sort personal project I can dedicate my free time to.

So yeah, that's about it, hopefully this will motivate me to keep some of my hobbies alive and stop spending all my time off work doing useless and unfulfilling shit.

For whatever reason I decided to make this website right before I actually had to stop fucking around and actually focus on my exams, which is why it's been laying untouched for 3 weeks (oops).
As a university student my amount of free time ranges pretty drastically, so expect updates to the site to be rather sporadic.
But now that I'm finished with my exams for this semester I'll do my best to update it regularily. That being said I finally got around to finishing my first review for the site! It's been on my plan for a little while now so I hope you enjoy reading it, and if you haven't the anime yet I hope I convinced you to check it out.
I have more plans for the website then just writing reviews for anime nobody care about though, and I hope I'll be able to commit to that and work more on the site over summer. By the way, I suppose having a channel of communication would be nice right? I'll do my best to set up a dedicated email soon, but for now feel free to reach out to me on my twitter account (which you can find on my about page here) if you want to correct me or say hi or whatever. I have somewhat of a distaste of that website and social media in general, but for now it will have to suffice.
Currently I'm writing up another review, it was actually supposed to be the first on the site, but there were some aspects of it I wanted to research more closely so hopefully I'll finish that next.

Hi I'm Red Lurker and welcome to the Degenerator.
After long time planning (another word for not doing anything at all) I finally decided to pull the trigger and make my own personal website. It's something that's been on my agenda for a few years now, and if you've spent any significant amount of time online lately I hardly need to explain why. The internet these days is fucking horrible, and everything has grown increasingly centralized and controlled by a handful of huge corporations that have absolutely no regard for concepts like privacy.
Not only are internet communites nearly dead, but you don't own shit anymore, by making an account on whatever social media platform people use you're simply throwing yourself out to be used to train whatever advertising algorithms and data harvesting technology that's gonna make the huge corpos money at your expense. In return you get to rent a space on their service under the tenous and ever changing mountains of small text that make up the various terms of service agreements that you surely have read... right?

Anyways this was not supposed to be a rant about this stuff, but rather an induction of this wonderful piece of internet real estate.
So what are my plans here? Well first and foremost I wanted this to be a free place for me to sperg out about my various interests, like japanese cartoons involving giant robots and the like, but I also figured writing and maintaining a website might prove to be a fun pasttime as well.
So that's about it, there's honestly not much more to write about at this current moment, so for now I'll continue improving the as of now barren website and write a couple of reviews for some anime. So stick around if that interests you. Until next time.
